my strength and shield

I'm a planner. I like to have a plan, and I very much "need" a plan at all times. My dear friends know this about me, and love me in spite of it.

I realize that this annoys people sometimes...

Ex: When I ask Nick twice (morning, and afternoon) if he'll be home for dinner. In my defense it's only b\c I would like to know if I'm cooking a full meal, or fending for myself. But I get it.

I even get stressed out if my plan gets slightly off course.

I know. I'm wacked.

This morning, I was spending a few minutes with the Lord before work.

"I am your Strength and Shield, Kristin. I plan out each day and have it ready for you, long before you rise from your bed. I also provide the strength you need each step of the way. Instead of assessing your energy level and wondering about what's on the road ahead, concentrate on staying in touch with Me. My power flows freely into you through our open communication. Refuse to waste energy worrying and planning your day, and you will have strength to spare.
Whenever you start to feel afraid, remember I am your Shield. But unlike inanimate armor, I am always alert and active. My presence watches over you continually. Entrust yourself to My watchcare. I am with you always."

Genesis 28:15
"I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."

Talk about peace!

Sometimes I get angry that my life isn't going according to "my" plan. I should be finished with school. I'm not. I should have a real career. I don't. I want to have kids someday. I don't. And you know what? It's OK! It's in these times that I can close my eyes, and take a deep breath knowing that I've entrusted "my" plan to the Planner. He knows me. He know's my heart, and He's got the answer.

Proverbs 16:9
"In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines hs steps."

Love y'all,

sick day

Saturday morning I woke up with a terrible head cold.

It was 7:38 am, and my ears were throbbing. My throat was on fire, and my mouth was paper dry from breathing all night with it hanging open, because my nose was so stuffy. That's the worst.

For the rest of the day:

Lifetime movies, Real Houswives of Beverly Hills, sweats, tissues (with Vicks), vitamin c, Advil cold and congestion, and homemade roasted tomato soup.

I make the best tomato soup ever. Even when I'm sick. You should try it...a million times better than that canned crap.

Being sick sucks. Now hoping hubby doesnt get it, b\c he just might kill me.

waaaaaa

love and germs,

new year

HAPPY NEW YEAR BLOGGIES!!!

What a a year 2011 was! Like most, there were a lot of great, and some not so great memories that came with this past year. Some moments I will forever cherish, and others, I will be happy to let slip away. Here's some goodies :)

Janurary - My best friend Tana, her husband Brian, and big sister Abbi welcomed a new addition to their sweet family. Welcome to the world Brianna Marie Roberts!

February - Started the month off with hammering, sawing, painting, paving, and nailing. I love home projects!

March - Brought all my precious girlfriends from childhood together for a weekend at the beach...husband/kid free! I forever treasure these girls!

April - Delivered two sweet gifts. My family (missing a few) came down from VA to celebrate by 27th birthday! I'm so blessed!

And to celebrate our 5th anniversary, I flew up to DC to visit Nick for a long weekend. Such a beautiful place to see!

May 1, 2011 Osama bin Laden was killed.

June - Austin graduated from high school! Such a proud big sister!

July-August Nick got very sick. Doctors found out he had a gangrenous gallbladder, and infection had spread to his liver and stomach. We spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals.

Psalm 41:3 "The LORD sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness."

September - I became an Aunt! Oh how I love my Ezra Rose Williamson. He's perfection!

October - Brought my family over to the west coast to meet the newest addition...hello WA! Truly one of the most majestic places I have ever been to!

November - Nick and I hosted our first Thanksgiving. I over cooked the turkey.

December - Our dearest friend's Megan and David welcomed their first little girl, Peyton Faylor Osborne. What a year of births!

Good-bye 2011. Thank you for a truly great year!
